DETAILS:
We’re on the hunt for a motivated and talented Engineering Student in our Safety & Mission Assurance department at our Brampton office. This is a 12 month placement, starting in September 2026.
Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date.
Responsibilities:
The intern will assist the L&SE (Canadarm 2) Safety & Mission Assurance team with a variety of tasks such as:
- Supporting the S&MA team in their work, including reviewing engineering documents for correctness and quality, writing summaries and meeting minutes, and other tasks as directed by the program team.
- Supporting the management, reporting, and tracking of non-conformances, identifying those that may be safety-critical, prompting users to take needed action and adding control board decisions.
- Interfacing and working collaboratively with program management, systems engineering, mission operations, safety and QA staff to accomplish S&MA tasks.
- Making use of MS office suite, Power BI, generative AI to create tools to support S&MA work, including reports, metrics, and dashboards.
- Supporting company initiatives such as adopting new tools and business processes (e.g. check out and testing, documenting and training users)
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience and skills required:
Interested candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline such as Aerospace, Systems Design, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with at least three (3) years completed. Candidates must be willing to work on a variety of tasks, be self-driven, and have a strong ability to work both independently, and as a member of a team. Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills are essential to this position.

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $25 - $28 hourly. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
