We are currently looking for an InspectionServices Technician to join our team based out of Cambridge, Ontario.
This position requires extensive site work/travel, up to 75%. Field projects will require shift work and extended work hours.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Depending upon the specific level, the Inspection Services Technician responsibilities include the following:
- Hands-on support of all site pre-deployment activities.
- Execute site work in accordance with all procedures.
- Perform or oversee NDE tasks in the field.
- Supervise work groups to complete specific site tasks.
Technician Activities:
- Assemble, test and refurbish equipment prior to site deployment.
- Verify/validate equipment and procedures prior to site deployment.
- Assist in training.
- Prepare or review procedures.
- Ensure site work is executed in accordance with procedures, inspection plans, and safety requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical support for equipment setup, operation and troubleshooting.
- Interface with customers, site inspectors and vendors.
- Prepare site status reports.
- Oversee work of tradespersons.
- Maintain equipment and perform calibrations.
- Develop processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally.
- Enforce and abide by the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and safe work practices.
- Mentor and train coworkers assigned to you through on-the-job training in safe work practices, technical skills and compliance with company policies.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
- Gather and escalate client concerns to leadership when needed.
- Shall be able to climb ladders/platforms.
- Personnel shall be physically capable of crawling in and out of small man-ways, climb inside vessels, towers, heaters, or other confined spaces for inspection activities, often wearing Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.
- Computer skills, especially familiarity with MS Office applications. are necessary.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in an electrical, mechanical or NDE discipline or equivalent related experience.
- Technician Levels: Qualifications (NDE) and equivalent experience
Jr. Technician: certification in-progress, and 0-2 years of experience (college grad)
N.S. Technician I: Level I with less than 2 certificates, and 2-3 years of experience
N.S. Technician II: Level I with 2 certificates, and 3-5 years of experience
N.S. Technician III: Level II with less than 3 certificates, and 5-7 years of experience
N.S. Technician IV: Level II with 3 or more certificates, and 7 or more years of experience with supervisor/lead responsibilities
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and respond to short notice work assignments.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the techniques and method in which are to be esmployed.
- Ability to set up and standardize equipment, conducts tests, interpret and evaluate findings in compliance with required specifications, standards and/or customer specifications.
- Knowledge of Industry Codes (ASME).
- Exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Knowledge of NDT equipment and ability to effectively perform assigned NDT inspections.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Maintains a positive outlook, rebounds quickly from frustrations and unpleasantness, and maintains composure and friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations.
- Willing to work with others, collaborating and compromising where necessary; promptly share relevant information with others.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[74,000]] and $[[111,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
