Position and Responsibilities
As a member of the maintenance department, you will be required to read and interpret construction drawings, written work instructions, and follow procedures. You will be responsible for repairing worn or damaged parts, building structures, repairing vessels, and repairing or fabricating piping systems. For piping, this includes cutting, laying out, fitting, and preparing pipe ends for welding. You will be tested annually for each welding procedure used for pressure piping. This includes gas tungsten-arc welding and shielded
metal-arc welding of carbon steel and stainless steel in all positions.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Grade 12 Diploma
- Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories
- Good problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multi-dimensional team
- Ability to work within established procedures and safe work practices
Asset:
- Successful completion of post-secondary welding certificate or diploma program
- Pressure piping experience
