We are seeking a Feeder Replacement NDE Technician - Lead to join our Cambridge, ON team.
The Inspection Services – Feeder Replacement NDE Technician is responsible for all NDE related to Feeder Replacement, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiography (RT) and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT). Responsibilities include project estimating and planning, maintaining all NDE tooling, scheduling and training contract personnel, and leading the NDE team during site execution (requires up to 75% site work/travel). This position has no direct reports, however, is expected to take leadership for project planning and estimating, and to lead the Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) team during training and site execution.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead project estimating activities related to NDE, with Project Management.
- Participate in site execution of feeder replacement outages in the role of UT Specialist.
- Control and maintain all NDE tooling related to Feeder Replacement, forecasting equipment requirements and inventory.
- Coordinate with Site Manager to schedule work priority, restrictions and deliverables.
- Plan, supervise and conduct NDE inspections.
- Verify and report test results to facilitate comparison with defined standards; note unusual occurrences which may have significance.
- Adhere to all quality and safety standards and demonstrate a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead training of all contract personnel.
- Lead preparation of NDE documentation for outage execution.
- Lead contract technician staffing and scheduling, in parallel with vendors.
- Support inspection qualification activities.
- Hands-on support of all site pre-deployment activities.
- Support other work scopes (Feeder Inspection UT, Steam Generator tubing Eddy Current and UT) on outages when no Feeder Replacement activities are planned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Technician/Technologist diploma: college graduate in an electrical, mechanical or NDE discipline plus 5 years or more related experience, with supervisory responsibilities.
- CGSB UT Level 2 Technician. RT and PT methods are an asset.
- PAUT and TOFD certificates are an asset.
- Full understanding of the scope and limitations of the NDE method(s) for which qualified.
- Up to 75% site work/travel expected.
- Leadership experience, assigning and reviewing work performed by others.
- Experience managing equipment inventories, performing tooling maintenance and forecasting requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to recognize and resolve conflict.
- Advanced ability to conduct testing to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDE methods(s).
- Participating in problem solving and root cause investigations.
- Previous supervisory experience required.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[82,000]] and $[[124,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
