Your role within the team:
- Provide electrical design support for the execution of system design packages, fabrication, and construction.
- Execute engineering tasks in compliance with client procedures, quality assurance programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless execution of assigned work.
- Prepare technical documents, such as: engineering drawings (including GAs, DDs, WDs), change paper markups, calculations, design/analysis reports, design requirements, design manuals, bill of materials, design specifications, technical specifications, component specification sheets, commissioning specifications, etc.
- Participate in interdisciplinary document reviews to ensure design integration, consistency, and comprehensiveness.
- Prepare requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for equipment and materials to support procurement.
- Provide technical guidance, instruction, and oversight to Designers and Drafters.
- Prepare scopes of work and inputs to bid proposals.
- Perform field walk-downs during different design phases and prepare Walkdown reports as required.
- Support design, field, construction, and execution activities, such as: design development, design revisions, field changes, commissioning, AFS, closeout, etc.
- Complete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.
- Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters.

The ideal candidate:
- Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and power systems design within the nuclear industry.
- Experience with 500kV, 6.9kV, 600V, AC and DC low voltage power distribution systems, including preparation of Single Line diagrams, Elementary Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams and schedules, and calculation of power demand/ electrical load lists.
- Experience with transformer sizing, cable (above and below ground) sizing, circuit breaker sizing calculations.
- Experience in modelling electrical power systems and use of analysis functions in ETAP or other similar software is an asset.
- Direct experience with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) electrical power systems.
- Good working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, such as of CSA 22.1, Canadian Electrical Code Part I and The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), NEC, IEEE, IEC, and NETA.
- Hands-on site experience in installation methods, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems in nuclear or other heavy industrial environments is considered an asset.
- Familiar with procurement, construction, and commissioning support for electrical equipment such as Transformers, MCCs, low voltage distribution load centres, UPS systems including rectifiers and inverters and Diesel Generators (emergency and standby), power and control and instrumentation cables.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Already is or is willing to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical acumen to resolve engineering challenges.
