Your role within the team:
The qualified individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Perform engineering computations and pipe stress analyses using applicable software (e.g., PipeStress, CeaserII, AutoPipe, MATLAB, MathCAD, ANSYS, and LSDYNA. etc.) and
Perform pipe stress analysis of piping systems including thermal, fatigue, seismic, linear and non-linear analyses (nuclear class or non-nuclear class) in accordance with ASME Section III, Div.1, and/or ASME B31.1 code requirements.
Provide inputs or assist in preparation of engineering drawings (including GA, ISO, pipe supports, flow diagrams), change paper markups, and prepare design/analysis reports, design requirements, design manuals, bill of materials, design specifications, technical specifications, data sheets, system classification lists, code classifications, commissioning specifications, etc.
Prepare TSSA registration packages.
Perform site visits to client and supplier shops as required and perform field walk-downs during different design phases as required.

The ideal candidate:
Engineering Degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and registered as an Engineer-In-Training or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (this is mandatory).
Minimum 6-8 years of related work experience in piping / mechanical engineering within a heavy industrial environment such as: mining, oil & gas, power, nuclear etc.
Working knowledge of applicable standards or regulatory guides. Knowledge of CSA N285.0 and CSA B51, CSA N289 and ASME Section III (Section 1 NB, NC, ND) and ANSI B31.1 codes would be an asset.
Experienced in Stress Analysis using PipeStress, CeasarII, AutoPipe, MATLAB, MathCAD, ANSYS-APDL, and LSDYNA. or other similar software program is an asset.
Shall have excellent communication and technical writing skills. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset.
Support field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions, commissioning, AFS, closeout, etc.
