Project Technical Coordinator

This role will be based in Pickering, ON.
Your role within the team:
- Responsible for assigned scope of the project and accountable for performing duties that facilitate work progressing with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
- Liaise with key stakeholders as required generally including engineering, construction, quality client & subcontractors.
- Maintain a positive relationship with client project counterparts.
- Responsible for helping implement the project schedule and track budget for assigned engineering, procurement, construction segments of the project.
- Coordinates with Engineering to ensure that the technical documents are prepared in support of the project.
- Coordinates the preparation and delivery of project deliverables.
- Provides status and progress reports in support of the Project Manager.
- Ensure work is performed within quality program requirements.
- Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously.
- Employee may be assigned to short-term field service assignments on Candu Field Services projects, typically during a customer’s outages. During these assignments, the employee may be requested to perform work in a radiological work environment, once trained and qualified, and under the supervision of radiation protection personnel.

The ideal candidate:
- Diploma in Engineering Technology or Construction Technology or equivalent is an asset.
- Co-op Experience and/or 1-2 years’ experience supporting various type of projects including construction, manufacturing or engineering services projects.
- Experience working in a nuclear environment will be an asset.
- Experience working with projects involving automation for control of critical processes.
- Experience with commissioning new systems and/or troubleshooting of automated systems.
- Working knowledge of industrial safety and nuclear safety culture.
- Ability to lead by example and set high standards for Health & Safety and Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.
- Understanding of supply chain and materials management principles.
- Understanding of project delivery methodology including earned value, critical path scheduling, prime contract and subcontract management, procurement and supply chain methodology and inspection and test plans.
- Knowledge of Non-Destructive Examination and CGSB standards is an asset.
- Knowledge of ASME/CSA welding standards and practices is an asset.
- An appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
- Can work within a team – or lead – and can work together towards a common goal.
- Excellent organizational, communication and customer relationship skills.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in other languages (Korean, Mandarin, Romanian, Spanish, French) will be considered an asset.
