What will you be doing!
- Nuclear Cybersecurity
- Conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify and mitigate cyber threats to our assets.
- Implementing and maintaining cyber security controls and protocols to protect critical infrastructure and systems.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of Operational Technologies and Cyber Essential Assets.
- Information Security
- Implementing security measures to safeguard data and information assets.
- Conducting security assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls.
- Assisting in developing, reviewing, and enforcing information security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensuring policies are comprehensive, up-to-date, and effective across all teams.
- Operational Security
- Being knowledgeable in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and/or machine learning.
- Monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity incidents and breaches affecting information systems.
- Providing guidance and support to operational teams in integrating cybersecurity into our processes and workflows.
- Continuously assessing and enhancing the security posture of operational systems and networks.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Nuclear Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred coursework or specialization in cybersecurity, nuclear security, risk management or related fields.
- Additional certifications or training in cybersecurity, such as Security +, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or other industry-recognized certifications are advantageous.
- Experience
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, standards, and best practices.
- Knowledge of nuclear cybersecurity principles and regulations is desirable but not required.
- Familiarity with common security frameworks such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), ISO or CIS (Center for Internet Security).
- Proficiency in key technical areas such as network security, encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms are beneficial.
- Familiarity with security technologies and tools used for cybersecurity defense and monitoring (SIEM, IDS, NAC) solutions.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, along with attention to detail, are essential for identifying and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including technical teams and management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently in achieving common goals and objectives.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
