McArthur River - McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
Position and Responsibilities
- Operate Atlas Copco Raisebore drills (53R) and Cubex Scorpion drills (and all associated equipment).
- Co-ordinate set-up, teardown, and placements of Atlas Copco Raisebore Drills (53R) and Cubex Scorpion drills.
- Assist in the installation and removal of bits and reamers.
- Assist with Longhole stope blasting activities.
- Oversee training and safety of Raisebore personnel at second and third levels of progression.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a Raisebore operator or Longhole drill operator in a mining environment
- Minimum of five years underground work experience
- Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills
- Rotating day shift/night shift schedule
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
- Experience in Longhole Drilling and Blasting
- Ability to obtain a Saskatchewan blasting certificate
- Mine rescue experience
- Ability to operate small pieces of equipment (Skid steer)
Conditions of Employment
Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN)
