Your role within the team:
- Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.
- Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and prepare design documents and compile engineering packages.
- Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs using ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and other structural programs.
- Ensure Compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations, and ensuring the adequacy of design for permits and compliance with approved plans.
- Accountable for the delivering all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical instructions to Junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.
- Review and comment on the work performed by the others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation.
- Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question.
- Prepare Engineering estimate and technical write-up for proposals.
- Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.

The ideal candidate:
- Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University, master's degree and above is an asset.
- Must be a P.Eng License holder. Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- Minimum 12 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants / industrial buildings.
- Must have experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
- Thorough knowledge of use of Analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering.
- Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures and practices is preferable.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Travel to client site is required.
