The Position
We are seeking an experienced Configuration Management Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of configuration and change management specialists, and will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management processes and procedures for complex space systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and experience in managing engineering configuration and change management for both hardware and software.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of configuration and change management specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure effective and efficient configuration management processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Develops, maintains, and documents CM plans using proper Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) software and procedures.
- Ensure proper implementation & maintenance of the As Planned As Designed (APAD), As Planned As Built (APAB) & As Built As Maintained (ABAM)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing, to ensure that configuration management processes are integrated and aligned with overall business objectives
- Oversee the development and maintenance of configuration management plans, procedures, and documentation, including configuration control boards, change control boards, and configuration implementation
- Ensure that configuration management processes are applied consistently across all programs and projects, and that configuration management is integrated into the overall product lifecycle
- Develop and implement metrics to measure configuration management performance, and track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that configuration management is integrated into the design and development process, and that configuration management requirements are met
- Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects, including process improvements, tool implementations, and training programs
- Collaborate with quality teams to ensure that configuration management processes are aligned with quality management systems, and that configuration management is integrated into the overall quality management process
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies, to ensure that configuration management requirements are met and that configuration management processes are aligned with industry standards and best practices
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve configuration management processes and procedures
Job Requirements (education, experience/skills)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field
- 6-8 years of experience as a configuration manager
- Awareness of Configuration Management functions and CM Industry standard (EIA-649, ISO10007 etc.);
- CMII or CMPIC certification or other CM related Certification an asset
- Experience with defining and writing process documentation and configuration management plans
- Experience with hardware and software builds
- Experience with evaluations of software products to ensure proper identification, control, and status accounting of the software baseline for each system
- Working knowledge of automated CM tools (PLM or ERP applications);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

The compensation range for this position is $93K - $136K annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
