McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The Role
Reporting to the training coordinator, you will design, update and deliver training programs that meet operation needs. Using Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and applying adult learning principles, you will provide both classroom and practical instruction.
In this role, you will:
- Develop new and update existing training programs by utilizing Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
- Consult with key stakeholders to develop this training curriculum and deliver plans to meet the operation’s needs.
- Use adult learning principles to deliver training programs to site employees and contractors.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all departments and contractors.
- Determine training requirements and develop and deliver classroom and practical training.
- Deliver training and conduct evaluations of employee performance.
- Maintain attendance/enrollment and training records in computer database.
Required:
- certificate in adult education and/or train the trainer certification along with a background in training and development in a mining environment. A combination of relevant training experience, on the job or formal education would be considered;
- understanding of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT);
- experience in an industrial mine setting;
- demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (visual, oral and written);
- contribute to the development of instructional materials;
- strong computer, presentation and communication skills are essential; and
- experience in SAP and Microsoft office applications.
Recommended:
- previous training and/or peer training/mentoring experience five to eight years’ experience in an underground hard rock development mining environment; and
- knowledge of mine construction.

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).
The McArthur River operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
