About Us
McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
Position and Responsibilities
Under the mentorship of our experienced construction and production miners, you will:
- Assist with underground construction, production drilling, backfilling, and general clean-up.
- Be trained to operate a wide range of underground mobile equipment (Kubota side by side, Bobcat skid steer, 4-yard and 6-yard scoop tram, scissor deck, etc.).
- Be expected to learn the overall mining processes and follow all work instructions and procedures.
- Provide support to the mining department as required.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Excellent safety and attendance record
- Good reading, writing and communication skills
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
- Previous experience working underground
Conditions of Employment:
- Pre-employment substance test; and
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
