Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
As a member of the Cigar Lake radiation team, your work will focus on ensuring that the worker health and safety challenges associated with potential radiation exposure are identified and minimized. You will be a front-line presence throughout the site and a knowledge resource for your coworkers, utilizing your skills and experience as a technical professional.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with the Radiation Protection Program throughout the operation.
- Collect, maintain, and record radiation data from the underground and surface facilities.
- Issue radiation work permits when needed.
- Conduct routine monitoring and assess working conditions pertaining to radiation protection for the safety of all workers.
Required:
- radiation or environmental monitoring technician certificate or a post-secondary education in a science-related field;
- three to six years of applicable work experience with radiation protection principles;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- team player with the ability to work independently with safety as a core value; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- previous underground experience; and
- experience with Microsoft Office.

Safety Sensitive Site
Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).
The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
