The Role
The Sr. Specialist, Transportation Safety is a key position in our SHEQ Transportation & Regulatory Relations department.
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for ensuring that legal regulatory compliance, both for national and international radioactive materials and other dangerous goods transport regulations are followed
- Work in a proactive manner to develop, exercise and lead emergency preparedness and response to transport incidents with an emphasis on Cameco’s radioactive products
- Manage the physical security program for people and assets at all Saskatoon locations, along with overseeing and providing procedural training to contracted security staff Maintain effective partnerships with local and federal government agencies,
Required:
- Degree in physical/earth sciences
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training
- Five to eight years of relevant progressive experience
- Extensive background in safety, handling of dangerous goods, radiation safety, and emergency response as well as experience in both developing and conducting training
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Recommended:
- Public communication experience would be considered an asset
