The Role
The technical services department is a talented team of engineers that work on impactful projects essential to Cameco’s success. As a member of the technical services department, you will report to the chief engineer, electrical and instrumentation, and have the unique opportunity to design specialized instrumentation and control systems that are key to Cameco’s future success. This position will require you to be a strong individual contributor while also working collaboratively with your team.
In this role, you will:
- Support the instrumentation discipline design lead on multi-discipline project teams
- Perform instrument selections for Cameco’s uranium operations
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents such as the instrument index, control philosophy, P&IDs, instrument data sheets, instrument location plans, loop drawings, cable schedules, PLC and other panel drawings as required
- Produce and evaluate bid documents for materials and contracts, completing vendor shop drawings reviews and assisting with preparing material costs and timing estimates
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or chemical engineering
- Ten+ years of progressive experience in the field of instrumentation & controls design for process or mining operations
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- P.Eng. or Engineering Licensee with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
- Site experience and heavy industrial exposure particularly with field instrument selection
- Experience with industrial control system networks and networking components
- Experience with designing for DeltaV DCS, Foxboro DCS and Schneider M340/M580 PLCs
- Occasionally travel to project sites in Northern Saskatchewan and Ontario
Recommended:
- Current registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Surface and underground mining experience
- Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize work

Salary Range: $127,100 - $158,900
