Engagement Specialist, Nuclear
Overview
With more than 350 employees and over 75 years of experience, the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is Canada’s second largest research and technology organization. We help clients from across the world solve complex technology challenges, seize new opportunities, and reduce their environmental impact. SRC’S Nuclear division is pursuing the licensing and operation of an eVinci™ microreactor – a first-of-a-kind project in Saskatchewan. As the primary organization responsible for microreactor development in province, SRC is working to accelerate adoption of microreactors safely and consistently to support local industries and communities.
The Saskatchewan Research Council’s Nuclear Division is seeking an Engagement Specialist to prepare materials for public and stakeholder engagement in support of the microreactor deployment in Saskatchewan.
Accountabilities
- Compose and revise a wide variety of communications, documents and marketing materials
- Research, develop and implement communication plans to support engagement strategies
- Provide communication support to senior leaders in the Nuclear Division
· Manage engagement activities and events as part of the engagement team
· Participate in the planning, development and execution of marketing campaigns that integrate digital and traditional channels, such as social media, website, email newsletters and more

· Team player with effective interpersonal, communication and multitasking skills
· Willingness to perform in a complex organization with ever-changing demands and priorities
· Familiarity with communication and public engagement principles, practices, and procedures
· Effective oral and written communication, particularly when conveying technical information to a general audience
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, education, public relations, business or public administration, or other relevant academic field
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience researching, writing and preparing materials for public, stakeholder, and/or Indigenous rights holder engagement
· Experience in the energy sector, research and development or scientific field is an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft SharePoint
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
