Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world. The Role
Reporting into the sr. director, procurement and materials management, this position is located at the Saskatoon corporate office. Cameco is looking for a motivated, team-oriented professional who values integrity, safety and the environment and strives to incorporate those values into their everyday achievements.
In this role, you will:
- Develop highly qualified procurement personnel and provide continual monitoring and feedback for established goals and objectives. Ensure that all staff comply with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee team performance though key performance indicators and targets that are achievable and relevant to internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services to meet production schedules and operational requirements.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders across the mining, fuel services, and corporate divisions to ensure corporate and operational needs are being met.
- Seamlessly manage day-to-day procurement operations in addition to meeting continuous improvement objectives to optimize the effectiveness of the team and future-proof the procurement process.
- Work with supply chain governance and enablement team to optimize the use of SAP S4/HANA and implement future procurement related digital tools. Serve continual improvement projects as a subject-matter expert and implementation agent.
- Monitor vendor/contractor performance and resolve any issues that arise regarding quality, performance, schedule of the work or financial problems relating to the contract along with the business unit end users.
- Implement and maintain vendor management and procurement strategies. Re-evaluate, establish and maintain service level agreements with operations, internal and external stakeholders.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce/business or supply chain management
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) certification
- Minimum 12 years of experience in various areas of supply chain management
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- This position will require travel 15-25% on an annual basis
Recommended:
- CCA, PEng, PMP certification is considered an asset
