Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
We are looking for a motivated individual to join the maintenance team at our Cigar Lake operation. Reporting to the supervisor, maintenance, your duties will take you to varied locations on surface as you help to ensure that the equipment needed to support our safe production goals are functioning reliably and efficiently.
In this role, you will:
- Work primarily on surface, though some underground work may be required.
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production.
- Complete repairs and overhauls on equipment, pumps, and piping systems on surface.
- Perform basic welding, as required.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and document repairs.
Required:
- grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
- valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson industrial mechanic certification;
- three to five years of industrial experience;
- ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
- team player with good communication skills;
- excellent safety record; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking using SAP; and
- previous underground maintenance experience.
