McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
Reporting to the general supervisor, maintenance, you will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary trades teams that support both surface and underground operations. This role provides oversight of instrumentation, plumbing, and carpentry functions, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of equipment, infrastructure, and facilities. The position works closely with other discipline supervisors to coordinate priorities and contribute to overall site performance. You will coach and develop a team of problem solvers and contribute to a positive, solutions-focused team environment that supports continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and coordinate all instrumentation activities across process circuits, mobile equipment, and underground mining equipment for both surface and underground operations.
- Supervise the surface plumbing team activities, including maintenance of boilers, propane heating systems, and general plumbing requirements.
- Oversee the carpentry crew responsible for maintaining surface facilities, including camp accommodation and related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with other discipline supervisors to support shared operational objectives and ensure efficient, safe, and reliable site performance.
Required:
- valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson instrumentation electrical red seal trade certification or a technical diploma/degree in an electrical related discipline;
- 10 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent.
- three years’ minimum experience in an underground mining environment;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills;
- ability to obtain a Saskatchewan mine supervisor certificate.
- valid first aid certificate; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- previous industrial site instrumentation experience including working in an underground mine;
- previous working experience using SAP, 4-Hana, Sigga, Bentley as well as Microsoft’s suite of applications; and
- experience using mobile devices including Ipad’s or Iphone’s for work orders and other regular day to day business communications.
