Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
Reporting to the shaft supervisor, you will assume hoist operator duties ensuring site targets are met in a safe and efficient manner. Must pass the Saskatchewan Hoist Drum certification and hold a valid medical. Work with shaft crew hoisting materials and slinging activities. You will assist with headframe, hoistroom clean up.
In this role, you will:
- You will complete daily hoist checks and enter all findings into the Hoist Operator Logbook.
- You will be responsible for safe operation of the hoist and reporting any issues to the Shaft Supervisor and/or maintenance.
Required:
- grade 12 diploma, or equivalent;
- minimum of 5 years of mining industry experience;
- previous mine shaft and hoist experience;
- excellent communication skills;
- trouble shooting skills; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- saskatchewan Hoist Operator Certificate.
