Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
Reporting to the Training Coordinator, you will be responsible to develop new and update existing training programs by utilizing Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT). You will consult with key stakeholders to develop this training curriculum and deliver on plans to meet the operation’s needs. Using adult learning principles, you will deliver training programs to site employees and contractors.
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the delivery of safety-related training to site personnel through a variety of methods, providing coaching and feedback, evaluating on-the-job performance while identifying training gaps, and providing general support to the training team as required.
- Maintain good communication and co-operation with various sites, departments and stakeholders to ensure regulatory training requirements and operational goals are achieved.
- Support Cameco’s Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) through various administrative functions.
- Assist with the maintenance of Cameco’s Learning Management System (LMS). Continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
Required:
- Minimum Grade 12 education, diploma or certificate in a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum seven years of relevant work experience. Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Strong organization, presentation and communication skills are essential.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of computer programs (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- Previous industrial and underground work experience.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles, adult education.
- Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional.
- Understand all aspects of the Systematic Approach to Training and be able to perform these functions.
- Experience in SAP.
