Position and Responsibilities
As a refrigeration mechanic, your main responsibility will be operation and maintenance of all refrigeration plants and associated equipment. Responsibilities also include assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of all refrigeration equipment on site with respect to the refrigeration plant equipment, site air conditioners/HVAC and kitchen refrigeration equipment. You will help plan, coordinate, and execute refrigeration plant equipment shutdowns and start-ups.
You will manage and execute the preventative maintenance of existing equipment, use troubleshooting techniques to identify problems on components and systems. You will also be responsible for the installation of new equipment and follow the corporate environmental, health and safety policies and standards in the trade.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson refrigeration mechanic certification
- Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a valid Saskatchewan refrigeration engineer certification
- Five years of relevant ammonia-based refrigeration work experience in an industrial setting
- Halocarbon reclamation certificate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative Team player with effective computer and organizational skills
- Demonstrate safe work practices
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
- Greater than 100T ammonia refrigeration plant experience
- SAP, SIGGA, Bentley software experience
Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North.

Cameco's northern Saskatchewan operations operate on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
