Cameco Fuel Manufacturing is seeking a Pilger Operator to join our team. The Pilger Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Pilger mill machinery used in the production of tubes and ensuring they meet high standards of quality and safety.
Position and Responsibilities
Located in the Cobourg plant and reporting to the Tubing Supervisor, the position typically involves the following activities:
- Operation and preventive maintenance of cold pilgering equipment
- Operate Pilger machines according to established safety protocols and production schedules
- The performance of in-process product and process checks as well as making decisions regarding how to react to the results of those checks
- Performing tooling changes and equipment set-up on pilger and tube cutting equipment
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality production
- Utilizing your knowledge of policies and practices to solve operational problems on your own
- Cleaning of equipment and debris/standing liquid from the work area.
- Entry of information into the Manufacturing Information System (MIS).
- Must work a 3 shift rotation
Education and Qualifications
- High School diploma.
- Preferred Skilled Trade Journey person: Millwright, Toolmaker/Machinist or Post-Secondary education: Electro-mechanical technologist, mechanical technologist or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong trouble shooting abilities.

- At least two years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
