The Calian Nuclear team provides a comprehensive range of services covering the entire nuclear lifecycle. This includes Safety Analysis, Licensing, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Protection, Decommissioning, Waste Management, and cutting-edge Systems Engineering and Robotics.
Position Overview
The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Calian Nuclear Teams’ Project Managers to ensure that all budgeting, scheduling, and coordination processes run smoothly and that all projects are executed successfully.
The Project Coordinator will monitor the progress of a project to ensure that it is working within the confines of the set deadlines, scope and, budget limitations as well as generate progress various reports as needed. The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting all aspects of day-to-day project activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate each step of a project to ensure that it is meeting budgetary and deadline goals
- Report to the Project Managers to discuss the progress of each project and discuss resource needs, schedule changes, project scope adjustments etc
- Develop and review project plans and proposals in support of the Project Managers
- Create accrual reports and earned value statements for projects to support client requirements
- Work with Project Managers to develop forecasts for individual projects based on key deliverables and project schedules
- Work with other Calian departments to ensure that projects are being established according to requirements and that invoices meet client needs
- Support project managers in preparing for and conducting client meetings (agenda, presentations, and minutes)
- Create and maintain reports addressing all aspects of project development and close-outs
- Identify efficiencies and cost control measures within the project development processes
- Make suggestions for improvements to project operations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a Project Coordinator or similar role
- Experience with project administration software and processes (IE: PMBOK)
- Strong working knowledge using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
- Experience using SAP is preferred and will be considered a strong asset
- Completed or ongoing pursuit of PMP certification will be considered an asset
Additional Requirements
- There will be some travel up to 10%
- You must be eligible to obtain a Canadian Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
