The Role
Reporting to the Director, Community & Indigenous Engagement, this position will build community support by developing long-term, sustainable, high quality supplier relationships with all northern suppliers. You will be responsible for Cameco’s northern preferred contractor program and lead northern businesses development strategies in Saskatchewan. This position will also assist Cameco in managing its sustainable approach to develop and maintain long-term relationships northern communities, which is instrumental to the company’s work in northern Saskatchewan and contributes to supportive communities.
In this role, you will:
- In coordination with supply chain, site and technical services, act as the Cameco representative on business development and procurement strategies in the north and oversee the implementation of the preferred northern contractor framework.
- Work closely with Cameco’s existing northern suppliers, to develop and maintain relationships that support general business planning, growth and diversification initiatives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the business development component of Cameco’s northern strategy and agreement commitments, with a focus on northern Saskatchewan.
- Develop and maintain the reporting system for tracking, monitoring and reporting on all of Cameco’s northern suppliers and support the preferred northern contractor outcome results. Lead engagement within Cameco's northern strategy to ensure Cameco develops and maintains its relationships with northern Saskatchewan communities and provide support to northern Saskatchewan business development and workforce development initiatives.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Economics
- 8 or more years of experience in business planning and management, community economic development or business advisory services. Work experience with Indigenous agencies and communities in business capacity. Contract administration work would be an asset.
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered

Salary Range: $95,000 - $118,000
