What will you be doing!
- Coordinating and interfacing through the assigned Account Manager, on RFP responses with customers, ensuring professional protocols.
- Guiding CNL’s staff through the process of completing Proposals (offers to Commercial customers which include Work Package Requests, Expressions of Interest, Budgetary Estimates, Draft Agreements etc.)
- Providing input to Proposals that maximize revenue and win probability.
- Ensuring due dates to achieve in time delivery are communicated. Escalating issues when due dates are at risk.
- Ensuring assembly of a complete and accurate cost estimate
- Ensuring all required approvals are completed (financial, Legal, etc.)
- Supporting all steps in CNL Conflict of Interest process (Independent Assessor approval, COI plan, staff recusals, AECL notification/ approval, etc.)
- Completing Risk Review Checklist from Risk Review For Sales for all commercial Proposals. Recommending acceptance of Level 3 risk Proposals.
- Ensuring Proposal meets customer requirements (RPF/RFQ/Statement of Work)
- Completing and formatting the commercial component of proposals and ensuring consistency and continuity of proposals.
- Reviewing of final Proposals prior to the Commercial Proposal Manager for; scope, deliverables, price, QA requirements, assumptions, payment terms, risks, pricing and possible concerns.
- Submitting approved Proposals to customers.
- Guiding CNL’s staff through the process of completing Contract Change Order Requests (this include Change Order Requests, Change Control Notices, Request for Change Order, Contract Amendment Request, etc.)
- Providing input to Change Orders that maximize revenue and win probability
- Ensuring assembly of a complete and accurate cost estimate
- Ensuring client directed changes have appropriate legal review and changes to the scope of work are reviewed and approved by the Project Lead;
- Ensuring all required approvals are completed (financial, Legal, etc.)
- Assessing impact change request has on previous approvals (for example Conflict of Interest, Risk Review) and taking appropriate actions
- Reviewing current Contract and ensures Change Order Request succinctly describes the requested change to the Contract
- Submitting Contract Change Order Requests to the customer
- Comparing Contract (this includes Purchase Orders, Contract Orders, Agreements, etc.) to CNL’s previously submitted Proposal and making recommendation for acceptance or identifying discrepancies to Commercial Lead and Project Lead.
- Acting as a point of contact for external customers in obtaining acceptances from the customer for any clarifications or exceptions.
- Ensuring all required approvals are completed (financial, Legal, etc.)
- Submitting approved Contract to the customer.
- Maintaining Business Development database of all required contractual documents
- Acting as a point of contact for internal customers to provide commercial/contractual information, answering queries, giving advice and making recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Managing shared Business Development mailbox
- Preparing monthly reports and updates performance scorecards.
- Providing interim support for colleagues’ position during their absence.
- Acting as Business Development representative for CNL initiative
- Participating and providing support to audits
- Supporting resolution of customer issues and resolves problems efficiently and effectively (either individually or by garnering the appropriate resources to resolve issues).
- Acting as a point of contact for external customers to provide commercial/contractual information, answering queries, giving advice and making recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sharing information with CNL staff to help them remain aware of client issues in order to develop and support strategies and tactics to ensure client needs are met.
- Providing answers to customer needs, and seeking out the appropriate management input, where the risks to CNL are substantial. This requires good judgment in the determination of high-risk situations or those that may jeopardize the customer relationship.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to reduce approval cycle times and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ongoing reviewing of procedures and compliance and to ensure CNL’s requirements are met while meeting customer’s expectations
- Monitoring compliance to Proposal document requirements, assessing record preparation and retention, completing assurance, final distribution and storage of records.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Post-secondary education in a related field, commerce, finance, economics, accounting, business administration would be an asset.
- Experience
- Two (2) years relevant professional experience with exposure to marketing and sales of technical products or customized services would be an asset
- Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated skills in setting appropriate personal, unit, departmental, divisional or organizational priorities and directions; individual and team performance measurement and evaluation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet Customer deadlines, with an ability to manage and prioritize a workload that involves several projects with project teams from across CNL.
- Ability to work effectively with personnel of varying disciplines.
- Excellent computer literacy including the use of spreadsheets, databases and word processing software.
- Demonstrated extremely high level of attention to detail.
- Must possess a high level of motivation with a demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of sales cycle from Lead to Commercial Contract close out.
- Knowledge of CNL Commercial requirements including Conflict of Interest and Site Operating Contract Agreement requirements
- Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of CNL’s diverse market sectors, business issues and requirements
- Knowledge of databases to understand where and how to retrieve information to run queries and reports.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) to write reports and contracts, modify existing proposals, manipulate data, create tables and formulas
- Knowledge of procedures and processes of contracting to support CNL’s commercial objectives and help management ensure CNL and client contractual obligations are met.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret which has a minimum requirement of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.
