Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
Cameco’s business technology services (BTS) department provides vital services to world-wide operations utilizing a variety of technologies to support key operations. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working team-player to join the Business Intelligence team to administer and support the operational data needs of the mining division. This is a great opportunity to develop skills in a high demand technology, as well as to interact with the business and understand their needs to provide innovative solutions using data modelling and content development.
In this role, you will:
- Work within a team of technical experts to understand the data requirements and optimise their use for the mining and milling operations.
- Improving business processes and driving innovation using business intelligence software
- Be responsible for developing creative dashboards, front-end visualizations and data modelling that will provide decision support capabilities to the operations
- Be part of an exciting digital transformation journey, as Cameco matures from descriptive to more predictive and prescriptive data analytics.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, statistics, operations research, economics, or mathematics
- Three years of applicable work experience
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- Strong knowledge of data visualization best practices and techniques
- Experience with data curation, report creation, key performance indicator (KPI) development and statistical analysis
- Analytical skills, including strong SQL query knowledge
- Self starter and ability to understand business need and execute work independently Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
- Experience working with an enterprise data warehouse – BigQuery, Azure or equivalent
- Experience with business reporting tools – Power BI, Looker, Tableau, SSRS or equivalent
- Experience with ETL tools (Dataform, Apache Airflow, SSIS, or others)
- Experience working with SAP products – S/4 HANA, CDS views, SAP Analytics Cloud
- Experience working with operational time series data (OSI PI or other)
- Exposure to predictive analytics, Python, SAS or equivalent (Tensorflow)
