Reactor Components Engineering Assistent

Your role within the team:
- Perform conceptual and detail design engineering work for one or more reactor components to applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
- The assignments are normally performed under close supervision of an engineer in a higher grade.
- The design activities include but are not limited to the preparation of design documents, technical reports, including technical calculations and drawings.
- Prepare responses to technical questions, from reviewers or clients with the support from a technical lead or an engineer in a higher grade.
- Develop information and prepare technical documents, such as: engineering drawings and bill of materials, calculations, design specifications, design assessment, design requirements, design manuals, technical specifications (for procurement, fabrication, and site installation), testing specifications and reports, commissioning specifications, etc.
- Required to plan, schedule and manage own time, including taking into account the plans of others.
The Ideal Candidate:
- The candidate has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.
- The candidate to be eligible to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- The candidate has experience in solid mechanics through university projects or previous jobs.
- Experience in classical stress calculation will be considered as an asset.
- No practical experience required, but some experience is an asset.
- Trained and experienced in the application of GD&T is an asset.
